If your adjusted family net income is under $70,000, you do not have to pay a co-payment for eligible services under the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP). For households in this bracket, the plan covers 100% of the fees outlined in the CDCP dental fee schedule.
It is important to keep the following details in mind when planning your visit:
- Eligible Services: The 0% co-payment applies to all covered treatments, including Preventive care (like exams and cleanings) and Restorative care (like fillings).
- Fee Schedule Differences: While you owe 0% of the government’s negotiated fee, there can sometimes be a difference between the CDCP fee schedule and a clinic’s standard rates. If a clinic charges more than the plan allows, you may be responsible for that specific difference. We recommend requesting a pre-treatment estimate so there are no surprises.
- Excluded Services: Certain treatments, such as dental implants or Invisalign, are not covered by the CDCP. For these services, the co-payment structure does not apply, and the full cost would be your responsibility.
At our newly upgraded clinic in New Westminster, we provide a judgement free space and handle the billing process directly for you. We care about your smile and are here to help you maximize your benefits.
